Heritage of Pride hosts New York City’s Pride events in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, the beginning of the modern Gay Rights movement.

Heritage of Pride works toward a future without discrimination where all people have equal rights under the law. We do this by producing LGBT Pride events that inspire, educate, commemorate and celebrate our diverse community.HOP is a founding member of the International Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Coordinators known as InterPride, a not-for-profit organization that provides support to over 180 groups that plan Pride events around the world. Key Events at NYC Pride

The Rally

The first NYC Pride Rally occurred one month after the Stonewall Riots in June 1969, when 500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park and followed by a candlelight vigil in Sheridan Square. NYC Pride has continued this proud tradition by hosting the event in various locations throughout the city. This year we marked the opening of our official Pride events on Hudson River Park's Pier 26.

This year's Rally was a huge success! The stage featured top-level performers like Vicci Martinez and Pam Ann along with incredible hosts Pandora Boxx and Keith Price. The Rally was also graced with a surprise appearance by Lady GaGa.

VIP Rooftop Party

NYC Pride and Rafferty/Mazur Events proudly presented the VIP Rooftop Party. Now going into its fourth year, this event has become one of the staple men's events for Pride Week at the most exclusive rooftop venue overlooking the greatest city in the world. It all goes down at the luxurious Hudson Terrace, complete with plush interiors and relaxed terraces, a spacious roof deck where boys could work their bodies in the hot sun, and a retractable glass roof because nothing was going to rain on our parade!

PrideFest

PrideFest, now in its 20th year, is our annual LGBT street fair that combines vendors, entertainers and activities for a day of fun and celebration in the name of equality. PrideFest attracts thousands of out-of-state visitors and brings them together with local residents and families, corporate sponsors, community leaders and area business owners.PrideFest is the perfect place to stop to listen to a few tunes, grab a bite to eat or score some great Pride gear. And the best part is, it's totally FREE!

Pride March

The first March was held in 1970 and has since become an annual civil rights demonstration. Over the years its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS and to remember those we have lost to illness, violence and neglect. The March is a celebration of our lives and our community. This year we were joined by over 300 unique marching contingents, representing a vast array of non-profits, community organizations, corporate sponsors, small businesses, political candidates and activists! With over 50 floats making the trek down Fifth Avenue, this year's March was one of the largest and most exciting in history.
